Sessions
will be devoted to integrating the important principles of
the Iyengar Yoga method at the Intermediate Junior syllabus.
Participants will learn the skills to teach both asana and
pranayama at these levels as well as how to integrate philosophy
into their teaching.
Gloria has taught Yoga since 1980 and has been a Certified
Iyengar Yoga teacher since 1987. While director of the B.K.S.
Iyengar Yoga Institute in Los Angeles, she recognized the need
for a formal teacher training program. With the approval and
guidance of B.K.S. Iyengar, she founded the program in 1992.
Gloria is director and co-curriculum coordinator of that program
as well as the one founded at the University of California
at Riverside. She is director and teaches at the B.K.S. Iyengar
Yoga Center of La Mesa in San Diego, California. Gloria was
the founding president of the National Association (IYNAUS).
She has served as a board member of her local association (IYASC).
Gloria under direct and close guidance of the Iyengars trains
teachers in the U.S., Canada and Europe. She is at the forefront
of teacher training, an ambassador for the Iyengars' wish to
maintain the highest and purest standards of excellence in
their Method. Gloria studies with the Iyengars in Pune annually
and is known for her inspirational and clear style of teaching.
She received her Advance Junior I level certification from
BKS Iyengar in 2008.
The opportunity
